This could be enforced by installing Qt 4.8.x from KDE Testing repos then VirtualBox (even downloaded from official site) will crash permanently either binary distributed or compiled and installed from sources. The bug is discussed in https://bugs.gentoo.org/353224 and http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=637239 I've manually integrated the related upstream patch into the source tree of glibc package (ver. 2.11.3-12.21.1) and that has resolved my problem.
