https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=392841 Summary: A step in GUI Installer to choose which applications/services you do/do not want installed Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 3plus Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: donrhummy@yahoo.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer In the YaST2 GUI installer, there should be a step where the user can see all the applications and all the non-critical services that will be installed and uncheck any they do not want installed. You might see something like (in a better looking graphical manner): APPLICATIONS ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- NAME-------------CHECKBOX--INSTALLATION_FOLDER---DESCRIPTION SomeWebBrowser------X------/home/blahblah--------A web browser that blah blah SomeOfficeApp-------X------/home/office...-------Blah blah SERVICES ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- NAME-------------CHECKBOX--INSTALLATION_FOLDER---DESCRIPTION SomeFirewall--------X------/root/firewall--------A firewall that blah blah Then the user can check or uncheck any of those applications and/or non-essential services. I think this would be a HUGE feature. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
