This is also valid for most other commands: They won't make a diference if you specify /dev/hdX1, /dev/loop2 or a "normal" file. Sidenote: This is the last support-style comment in this bugreport from my side. Otherwise the bug will be cluttered up with (from the developer's point of view) useless comments.
