How would you put the lock on the file is this case. Leaving the file on the remote side with no lock, it can be modified, deleted and so during the edition time. We need a business solution not an awful hack. It works with gvfs people have the smb share mounted with their credential in the .gvfs pseudo filesystem, but when you have document which contain link to other in an absolute path way ( like /data/office/letters ) it breaks the content. One of the solution, would be to offer a quick and proper way to able user to mount the smb share somewhere in their homoe or dedicated directory without the need of any sudo or root account. fusefs ? A dolphin kio helper service menu ? A end not : who thing this is only enhancement ?
