User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; Edition Next; en-GB) Presto/2.10.238 Version/12.00 Hardware scan on my system (Medion 8822) detects a Realtek/VIA VT1708/A HDA soundcard. The driver for this card (snd_hda_intel) appears NOT to load and the card is disabled. It appears that an 'ioremap' error is encountered by the kernel. The system log bears this out. As a result of this error, all sound is crippled. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot system 2. Try to reproduce sound 3. Sound card not recognized... no sound card installed (although card is recognized in Yast) Actual Results: No sound possible. Expected Results: No sound reproduction possible.
