https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682725 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682725#c0 Summary: Sound buffer size is smaller on 11.4 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: tiwai@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: kasievers@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- In the earlier distro versions, we ran /usr/sbin/alsa-init script which also changes the pre-allocated sound buffer size to 1MB (if possible) so that PulseAudio can run more stably. Now this is no longer called by udev, thus the system uses only the default 32kB buffer size. For fixing this, either we need to re-add the hack into udev rules, or change the size statically in kernel driver. Maybe for 11.4 or later, changing the kernel default would make more sense, to avoid mess in udev. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
