http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1043146 http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1043146#c7 --- Comment #7 from Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.com> --- To clarify the situation: - On SLE-Server, drm-kmp doesn't exist, and we won't support Kabylake & AMDGPU graphics natively but only UEFI framebuffer. - On SLE-Desktop, drm-kmp is present, but applied only to the limited set of hardware (Skylake and later Intel GPU, and AMDGPU). For older chips, the 4.4.x kernel driver is used like SP2. The reason for conservative nature of SLE. The SLED installer doesn't contain drm-kmp, either. We naively assume the availability of UEFI framebuffer (fingers crossed). - On Leap 42.3, drm-kmp is applied to all DRM graphics device on x86-64, as we want to raise the usefulness of the recent development. Thus, it'd be good to have drm-kmp on the installer, too. - Leap 42.2 and TW have no drm-kmp; it's a once-off solution for Leap 42.3 and SLED12-SP3. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
