https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=437877 Summary: s2ram works in minimal text mode without X, within X doesn't work with any options Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: zoz@novell.com ReportedBy: pesotsky@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Created an attachment (id=247259) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=247259) dmesg (ACPI) Unfortunately i didn't manage to get my laptop to resume after suspend within SuSe 11.0. You can find my attempts bellow (SuSe 11.0). [Nevertheless it work under Fedora 9 and CentOS 5.2. out of the box.] Please help me to get it work under SuSe 11.0. This is the output of S2ram -n (SuSe 11.0): --------------- Machine unknown This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "TOSHIBA" sys_product = "PORTEGE M100" sys_version = "PPM10E-08UN3-GR" bios_version = "Version 1.50" The machine has Intel Centrino (Pentium® M) 1.20 GHz, 1024 MB DDR RAM, Graphic Intel 855GM, I recently checked s2ram in a minimal system environment at the command line using init=/bin/bash mount /proc mount /sys i have tried all below listed options in minimal text mode without X. The results can be seen in the table below. "Plus" means success and "--" the opposite. In the cases 5 and 9 the machine doesn't come back to life, Caps Lock doesn't function. In the cases 6 and 8 i got a message "Function not supported?" s2ram: suspend resume Caps Lock Info 1) -f + + 2) -f -a 3 + + 3) -f -a 2 + + 4) -f -a 1 + + 5) -f -p -m + -- -- 6) -f -p -s + + "Function not supported?" 7) -f -m + + 8) -f -s + + "Function not supported?" 9) -f -p + -- -- 10) -f -a 1 -m + + 11) -f -a 1 -s + + I have tried the same within X. I have added the options listed below one after another in in the file /etc/pm/cofig.d/config (E.g. S2RAM_OPTS="-f"). I gave the command "suspend" using gnome-power-manager. I tried the same using console. The results were the same. The computer didn't come back to life. The common thing was that computer didn't resume after suspend in a correct form. At first the cursor appeared in the upper left corner and blinked some seconds. Then the commandline appeared for a second and disappeared. The screen stayed black, the background light was on. Caps Lock didn't function. ---------------------------------- /etc/pm/cofig.d/config + gnome-powermanager (suspend) suspend resume Caps Lock -f + -- -- -f -a 3 + -- -- -f -a 2 + -- -- -f -a 1 + -- --
