What about adding at least some hint in the installer that the program has to be run with Admin rights?
Do you know how to check on Windows that you have admin rights? While bcdedit ends "successfuly" every time I cannot check that the operation was successful. (In reply to comment #13)
is also talking about "bcdedit /set" after the commandline from Comment #5. Maybe this can solve the problem?
How? I would personally vote for dropping instlux at all.
