https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=845617 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=845617#c0 Summary: kiwi: calling config.sh within lxc breaks shadow utils Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Yarny@public-files.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=563193) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=563193) Slightly modified JeOS description to trigger the bug User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 If kiwi calls config.sh with lxc during image preparation, shadow utils (useradd, groupadd, ..) fail with the error message
PAM: System error
Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: config.sh in the attached kiwi description contains the line
/usr/sbin/groupadd yarny Call kiwi to prepare this description on a machine where lxc is installed. Actual Results: The config.sh output in kiwi's log file states groupadd: PAM: System error The group "yarny" is not created.
The attached kiwi description directory is a copy of the suse-13.1-JeOS description shipped with current 13.1 RC1, with the following modifications: * Added package "shadow" to config.xml to ensure shadow utils are installed * Added "/usr/sbin/groupadd yarny" somewhere in config.sh * The file kiwi.log is the output of a kiwi image preparation session, containing the error message cited above. Amazingly, this problem doesn't show up if lxc isn't used (I tested by hacking kiwi code so that it won't find lxc-* anymore). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
