https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679814 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679814#c0 Summary: networkmanager only detects wlan if connected to a cable Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mrv@tuv.at QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b12) Gecko/20110222 Firefox/4.0b12 First of all: I couldn't choose it from the bug system, so I chose 'SuSE Other'. After deactivating 'wireless connection' in Knetworkmanager and then push the kill switch to stop, it is impossible to re-activate wireless connection again. I cannot activate wireless anymore even I change the kill switch setting back. Then 'wireless connection' checkbox keeps grayed. In /var/log/messages everything seems okay .. iwlagn okay... radio set on ... Another thing: I can not log in the wireless network anymore (wpa2 personal). In 11.3 it had worked. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.be mobile and uncheck 'wireless connection' in Knetworkmanager 2.deactivate kill switch 3.enable kill switch 4.cannot enable 'wireless connection' anymore Actual Results: no wireless available after a full reboot it is possible to check it again But loggin into WLAN is still not possible in messages: access point needs secrets... [...] ... device state change: 6 -> 9 (reason 7) ... Activation failed for access point Expected Results: can dis-/enable wireless as I wish .. and the connect successfully -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
