http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557964 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557964#c0 Summary: Gnome-main-menu takes long time to show up when recent documents includes files from CD/DVD Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 Gnome-main-menu tries to spin-up a CD-drive when the recent-documents has entries from a CD/DVD, in the process taking ~5 secs to show-up when clicked. This is too long, in my opinion and hurts the responsiveness of the menu badly. Either the menu should stop registering stuff from CD/DVD or it should cache theses entries suitably so that clicking on the computer icon does not require the cd/dvd drive to be spun-up. If I recall correctly, this did not occur with 11.0 or 11.1. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open files from CD/DVD 2.Close the file(s) and let the CD/DVD spin-down 3.Click on computer button in gnome-panel Actual Results: The CD/DVD drive starts spinning up, the menu itself appears after ~5 secs. Expected Results: Menu should appear instantly, irrespective of location of recent-docs. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
