The crash - with one configured driver. 2. The problem after testing synaptics driver version 1.4, which installed "silently" a second configuration in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d. I detected the problem myself and reverted it in Comment 4. Now, the original crash (which was the cause to test 1.4) remains (your Comment 5).
