In the second screen shot (comment #13), [Next] is still the default button, but it does NOT have the focus. A default button is a button that gets activated when you press [Return] anywhere in the dialog, no matter where the keyboard focus is. This is handy for dialogs with a number of input fields so you can send off the data without navigating to that button first.
