https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309883 Summary: ipw2200 draws power even when wireless disabled in NetworkManager Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: behlert@novell.com ReportedBy: pbaudis@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Even if I disable wireless in NetworkManager, my ipw2200 wireless draws power; my powertop measurements have shown that without ipw2200 module, my notebook draws 15.3W, with wireless disabled but ipw2200 module 15.8W and with wireless enabled (and associated) 16.8W. Part of the problem is that apparently the wireless transmitter doesn't turn off completely (?) and another part is that I still get a *lot* of interrupts from the card which keep waking up the system and CPU almost never gets to C3 state (though it's there almost all the time without the ipw2200 module). (It would be nice if this would behave saner even with wireless enabled and the system wouldn't be kept bombared with interrupts all the time even though there seems to be no heavy network load. CPU likes dozing off in C3.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
