https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1198473 Bug ID: 1198473 Summary: Yast2 installation screens with too small fonts on HiDPI laptop 4K UHD display Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: pablo@blueoakdb.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 858136 --> https://bugzilla.suse.com/attachment.cgi?id=858136&action=edit Screenshot Using the a couple of Tumbleweed[1] drops, with a 4K display[2], the installer GUI is displaying small fonts. Without knowing what data may be needed, I took a swag at data that may be needed. These will be attached shortly. I captured from the Ctrl-Alt-F8 console, an X error which may be innocuous. As is mentioned in Comment 69[3], this situation appears to be a common issue. One idea is rather than trying to keep abreast with the latest and greatest hardware, take the Clonezilla/GPartd strategy and present the user the option to '2x' the display. ::: GUI observations ::: o GUI has tiny text o CTRL-ALT-F1 & F8 - tiny text o CTRL-ALT-F2-F6 & F9 - text is fine ::: References ::: [1] - openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20220324-Media.iso -and- openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20220409-Media.iso [2] - Dell XPS 9700 4K UHD [3] - https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1173451#c69 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
