https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=264887 Summary: parse-metadata slows down the computer Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: martin@gamesplace.info QAContact: qa@suse.de parse-metadata slows down the computer immense. After starting the computer, which takes some time (800 MHz, 128 MB RAM), I am not yet able to use it. parse-metadata and other processes consume about 64 MB RAM for more than 5 minutes and a lot of cpu power. Thus, a Firefox start takes around 2-3 minutes and the system is very bulldogged. I have never seen such an unperformant package management, and this should be definitly optimized in later versions of OpenSuSE. I have the following repositories added: oss, non-oss, updates Other distributions' desktops react promt. OpenSuSE does also after the package processess are done processing everything. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
