https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=468559 Summary: X font: Japanese font rendering seems broken Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: jengelh@medozas.de QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-1.1 Firefox/3.0.5 Since the upgrade to 11.1, some webpages with Chinese/Japanese text are rendered incorrectly, producing lots of erroneous pixels. Does not seem to be affecting Chinese pages such as . Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox, go to http://ja.wikipedia.org/ , http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1C , http://www.cctv.com/default.shtml 2. If (1) does not show problem, try installing the MS font sets (the sans-serif CJK font may also be needed) 3. Actual Results: Scrambled text, as per attached picture. This only seems to happen when the majority of foreign glyphs is "single-pixel", i.e. raising the font size with Ctrl-Mousewheel makes the issue go away. Bold text and italic text at the problematic font size also seems unaffected. Expected Results: Would have expected to have font rendering working like in 11.0. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
