Actually I can even reproduce it with KDE3 on openSUSE 10.2, i.e. it seems to be a long standing but which affects both KDE versions. I have selected the "blank" screen saver. Therefore, the screen should get black when I click on the menu entry "Lock Screen" in KDE. Most of the time, this works. But sometimes, it doesn’t: The screen doesn’t get dark and I wonder what is wrong. Is my system load high and the screen saver just slow to start? Then I notice, that gkrellm (a system monitor) has stopped updating and realize that the screen is locked after all, only not blanked. I hit a key or move the mouse and see the password dialog ot unlock the screen. Then I click "Lock Screen" again and on the second try it usually works. Unfortunately this is not reproducible at will, there is a certain randomness. Sometimes the screen is properly blanked and sometimes (much rarer) it is not. By the way, I don’t think it matters which screensaver is used, I think I have seen this effect with other screensavers, i.e. not the "blank" one as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
