https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=394491 Summary: Synaptics driver does not support ALPS GlidePoint touchpad anymore Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 3plus Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fs@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Documentation This error exists since the 10.3 Kernel Update to 2.6.22.12 and is present on 11.0, too. The ALPS GlidePoint touchpad works fine (under X) with Kernels 2.6.22.5 and 2.6.22.9 (first official Kernel patch for 10.3). Installing 2.6.22.12 (the second Kernel update for 10.3) causes the touchpad to quit working (resulting in random pointer movements and clicks). Here is the hwinfo --mouse part of the touchpad: ############################ 54: PS/2 00.0: 10500 PS/2 Mouse [Created at input.183] UDI: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/platform_i8042_i8042_AUX1_port_logicaldev_input_0 Unique ID: AH6Q.5+smWHVjPI3 Hardware Class: mouse Model: "AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint" Vendor: 0x0002 Device: 0x0008 "AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint" Compatible to: int 0x0210 0x0003 Device File: /dev/input/mice (/dev/input/mouse1) Device Files: /dev/input/mice, /dev/input/mouse1, /dev/input/event3, /dev/input/by-path/platform-i8042-serio-2-event-mouse, /dev/input/by-path/platform-i8042-serio-2-mouse Device Number: char 13:63 (char 13:33) Driver Info #0: Buttons: 3 Wheels: 0 XFree86 Protocol: explorerps/2 GPM Protocol: exps2 Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown ############################ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
