https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=466851 Summary: EXA causes distortion/corruption during KDE4 login/logout with KWin desktop effects enabled Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: carlos.bessa@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-1.1 Firefox/3.0.5 Enabling EXA acceleration in xorg.conf causes distortion/corruption during KDE login and logout. During login, while the progress bar appears the screen flickers a couple of times. That's when the corrupted image appears... usually it's small bits of the current desktop. Funny thing, yesterday i was trying out the Fedora10 live cd, rebooted into opensuse and the corrupted image was based on the fedora desktop. Saw no corruption while logging in into fedora though. This is the only time this corruption appears. While logged in everything is working fine. workarounds: Removing the EXA line from xorg.conf corrects this. Disabling desktop effects also corrects this. Feel free to point me to some other place where can report this if it's more appropriate. regards, Carlos Bessa Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable EXA acceleration in radeon driver 2. Enable desktop effects in KDE4 3.
