https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=237489 Summary: Installation fails on Asus Crosshair Motherboard Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.schaefer@madplanet.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I tried to install OpenSuSE 10.2 on an Asus Crosshair Motherboard with a Seagate SATA 300GB hard disk. I have the same problem on the 64-bit as well as on the 32-bit version. I am using the DVD rather than the CDs. Installing OpenSuSE works with NO-ACPI boot option, then the system boots and the installation screen comes up. On the 'Analyzing the computer' screen a dialog with the message 'No hard disks were found ...' and I can only aboard the installation. Installing Fedora 6 works perfectly when using the NO-ACPI boot option during the installation so my system does work. Trying to install OpenSuSE 10.1 (32-bit) fails during booting the installation kernel during the hardware detection. On a side note: using an external USB DVD drive fails because the installer cannot find the DVD even though I could boot from it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
