When I attempt to install openSuse 11.3 64 bit from DVD, the install runs all the way through to completion of the rpm installs/copying. Then it reboots from the newly installed image. It gets only a few seconds into boot (initializing udev..., loading drivers) then it hangs.
A cold reboot at this point proceed up to the same point, and then hangs in the same manner.
The only way I have been able to successfully install 11.3 is using "Safe", but this is not really acceptable: no acpi, and only one core can be used.
Seems like a showstopper for openSuse 11.3 64 on this HP Probook 6555b.
Thanks, Ole
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce: 1. Do a normal install, everything being default. 2. Hang will be observed after first boot from installed image. 3.
Expected Results: I would, of course, expect no hang.
