https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=408754 Summary: Will not boot with more than 84 IP aliases Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: led@lenday.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer I have a web server, I normally alias one ethernet interface with a primary address and 100 aliases. This worked fine in 10.3. After having upgraded to 11.0, the system will not boot in this configuration, it just hangs with no error visible on the console or on console 10 when it is bringing up the interface. After laborious experimentation, I have discovered that the max is 84 aliases. If I bring it up with a single IP, then add the aliases after boot it seems to work OK but then it hangs during shutdown after saying that it is executing halt.local. I haven't spent much time with this one to characterize it. Kernel is updated, 2.6.25.9-0.2-default. Same symptom on 2 boxes, one with an Intel motherboard / ethernet controller, one with an MSI motherboard / Realtek ethernet controller. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
