https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=353575 Summary: Net-SNMP: prTable reports running processes as NOT running Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tom.voigt@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Hi all, I'm running here net-snmp-5.4.1-19 built by SuSE on a OpenSuSE 10.3 system. My snmpd.conf is configured with a "proc cron" line to watch the cron process. If I do a 'snmpwalk -v 1 -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2' Net-SNMP reports: UCD-SNMP-MIB::prIndex.1 = INTEGER: 1 UCD-SNMP-MIB::prNames.1 = STRING: cron UCD-SNMP-MIB::prMin.1 = INTEGER: 0 UCD-SNMP-MIB::prMax.1 = INTEGER: 0 UCD-SNMP-MIB::prCount.1 = INTEGER: 0 UCD-SNMP-MIB::prErrorFlag.1 = INTEGER: error(1) UCD-SNMP-MIB::prErrMessage.1 = STRING: No cron process running. UCD-SNMP-MIB::prErrFix.1 = INTEGER: noError(0) UCD-SNMP-MIB::prErrFixCmd.1 = STRING: Net-SNMP detects the running processes with a 'ps acx' (as stated in 'man snmpd.conf'). So I do a 'ps acx | grep cron' and see: 2963 ? Ss 0:00 cron The same is with other running processes. On a SuSE 10.0 system with net-snmp-5.2.1-10 there is no error like this. With the same config. I submitted the same bug report on net-snmp Bugs (https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112694&aid=1843918&group_id=12694) The people there informed me to use some corrected versions after 5.4.1. Maybe this could be used in a future OpenSuSE update? -- Greetings from Weimar / Germany Thomas Voigt -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
