I think that the problem is that the code is not installed to MBR or boot partition, but 'somewhere else' instead. It might be just me as well, since the problem is quite odd, one day I tried the process with different variables of the yast bootloader module, the process would finish 'successfully' but the new bootloader would just just not be found on reboot, and neither Windows(sda3) or openSUSE(sda2) would be detected, so my only option in grub was 'floppy' I have only sata drives and a separate sda1 for /boot Oh, and some times the bootloader would request to be installed to a floppy, but even clicking 'cancel' yast reply that the process finished successfully while it is not.
