https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732955 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732955#c0 Summary: KDE policykit password dialog is in background/inactive upon showing up Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: nice@titanic.nyme.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 When I attempt to change the settings of a network connection in plasmoid-NM, then the popping up authentication window of KDE policykit is sometimes invisible because it's an inactive window. This is very annoying for new users, since they may even not notice that some authentication is necessary, because the may be simply unaware of the authenticaion dialog. When I first tried to edit one of my connections and I didn't notice the authentication dialog a KDE policykit, I simply clicked the "edit..." button again and all the information I got from plasmoid-NM was that I have "insufficient privileges" to edit secret data. This is very misleading. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start some applications to have open windows on the desktop (usually multiple windows are necessary to reproduce this bug) 2. Click "manage connections" in plasmoid-NM 3. Edit a connection Actual Results: KDE policykit password dialog is hidden by previously opened application windows. Expected Results: KDE policykit password dialog should be on top of previously opened windows. In other words is should be immediately the active window in the foreground, so that users notice it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
