https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=281939#c12 --- Comment #12 from Sitsofe Wheeler <sitsofe@yahoo.com> 2007-09-13 10:40:59 MST --- Werner: Hmm. The problem for me is that it seems to be a regression from the previous version of SUSE we migrated from on the server. Whereas before we would generally only see failed print jobs from people trying to print documents with Japanese characters in them we are now (for example) seeing failed print jobs from people sending Intranet web pages from their SUSE 10.1 machines (I wish I could include the postscript that Firefox is generating but unfortunately it is a very sensitive document). In fact, the ghostview packaged with 10.1 doesn't seem to have this issue. In the past two days it appears to have happened 15 times (although I have not checked whether these are different documents from different people)... If there were a trial "patch" for SLES10 that contained a fix for this I would still consider it a step forward (assuming the official updates would upgrade it correctly and not regress it). It is rare that one will see every last problem resolved unless you are going to wait a very long time so I'd be happier to see a common fault resolved and a fix for rarer issues delayed. From my perspective SLES supports all of the HP printers and Ricoh photocopiers we have because we can have been able to use the PPDs as they all the printers support postscript. What do you suggest? Is it more likely that the common fault could be safely isolated (and a fix for only that released) if I were to file a separate bug report (although the issue does sound very similar to this one as even the package version is the same)? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
