This is the info the have given me: the codec ID chipset of Conexant AC-Link AC97 is 'Conexant CX20468-31 audio' and it is using SmartDAA technology. The accurate codec ID of AC97 is 43585430h. The previous codec ID is for chipset. So, regarding the problem with audio I have...is there a workaround? Could we fix it somehow?. I did some searching and the PulseAudio website has this page: http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/BrokenSoundDrivers It has an alsa-time-test.c program. That could help debug. Should I try that? I downloaded it, but when I tried to compile it, it gave me a lot of errors, because it's not correctly pointing to one of my alsa libs.
