The stuttering with AMD chip may come due to the cache coherency issue. Try to pass snoop=off option to snd-hda-intel module, e.g. set the line below in /etc/modprobe.d/50-hda.conf: options snd-hda-intel snoop=off
and reboot the system and retest.
I tried this but this resulted in having no audio at all. pavucontroll defaults to Dummy-output and doesn't show any audio hardware at all.
