https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=483916 Summary: Bug in java-openjdk update (Yast will not install openjdk patch because of conflicts) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Maintenance AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: johnroberts_abroad@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009012700 SUSE/3.0.6-0.1 Firefox/3.0.6 Yesterday after boot-up, I saw there were security updates, namely Java-openjdk & Java-openjdk browser plugin from 1.6.0_1.2_b09-9.1-x86_64 to 1.6.0_1.4_b14-24.2-x86_64 These updates fail to install, because of an apparent Yast2 conflict. This is the entry in the conflict.txt file: Quote: #### YaST2 conflicts list - generated 2009-03-10 15:05:59 #### Solvable java-1_6_0-openjdk-1.4_b14-24.2.x86_64 conflicts with tzdata-java provided by itself [ ] do not install java-1_6_0-openjdk-1.4_b14-24.2.x86_64 Solvable java-1_6_0-openjdk-1.4_b14-24.2.i586 conflicts with tzdata-java provided by itself [ ] do not install java-1_6_0-openjdk-plugin-1.4_b14-24.2.x86_64 #### YaST2 conflicts list END ### Please update the repo with corrected packages or advise on a workaround (already tried unistalling both packages and reinstalling the updated versions but that doesn't work Conflicts remain...) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Attempt to install new package version through Yast2 2. 3. Actual Results: When attempting to install conflicts appear that are not resolvable. When attempting to simply update through desktop icon, update is unsuccessful... Expected Results: Simply install the updates properly... If it is a package problem, then updated packages should be pushed to the repo... If not please provide workaround... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
