We probably should shut it up but it doesn't have much to do with the burning failure. During burning or ripping, the application is directly talking with the device and the driver just provides comm channel between the two so burning/ripping problems usually are not directly solvable from kernel/driver side. Can you please do the followings? 1. Boot and insert a blank media. 2. Try to burn an image using "wodim -vvv -V dev=/dev/sr0 IMAGE_FILE" and record the output. 3. After it fails, attach the output of wodim and dmesg here.
