Well, being an owner of a new YubiKey 5C NFC I can tell:
Using SUSE's current ykman-gui (ubikey-manager-qt-1.1.1-1.12.x86_64) it does
*not* display any of the NFC functions, but when I use the
yubikey-manager-qt-1.2.4b-linux.AppImage it does. And I see no compatibility
issues.
Even when not updating to 1.2, there were several releases if newer 1.1.x.
Also on "backwards compatibility": If the old versions allowed invalid input, I
don't see a major problem if the current version does not.
The solution is to fix the bad input, not to keep old and broken software
(MHO).
