https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=813872 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=813872#c0 Summary: reiserfs or quota deadlock Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: matwey.kornilov@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0 Hi, I am running openSUSE 12.3 with kernel 3.7.10-1.1-default #1 SMP Thu Feb 28 15:06:29 UTC 2013 (82d3f21) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I am experiencing following symptoms: System locks either on boot or shutdown (one time after ~20h uptime). When the system is locked I am able to ping it, to use sysrq-key, even more, I can try to login into the console, or debug-console, but login hung after I enter 'root' and hit the enter. When there is open remote ssh session at hung am able to run a few commands until one of them (probably) ask VFS. At hung, when I use sys-rq to Crash or show CPU trace there are evidences that one of my CPUs is idle, and the second is printing out the trace. I am tried to hung softlock, using kernel.softlockup_panic, and I found that there are no softlocks. After experimenting with kernel.hung_task_warnings I found that all of my system processes are blocked. Unfortunately, I was not able to log hung traces in digital format, only as screen shots made by my mobile phone. Attached here are 8 shots of the hung warnings. My root filesystem is mounted as: /dev/disk/by-id/md-name-2 / reiserfs acl,user_xattr,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0 1 1 I can't reproduce this on demand, but It happens frequently enough to try collect some additional data, if needed. When I disable quota in my system, I am PRESUMABLE not able to reproduce the issue. Attached here: 1. /proc/cpuinfo 2. /etc/sysctl.conf 3. sh_??.jpg Reproducible: Sometimes Kernel RPM: kernel-default-3.7.10-1.1.1.x86_64 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
