No idea, sorry. The problem will not go away with an update. You have some stuff left over from a broken beta, but I can not tell for sure what you need to fix.

In any way, as long as you have "amd74xx" in /etc/sysconfig/kernel, it can not work as expected.
That i fully undersrtand..
I may need changes to: /etc/sysconfig/kernel /boot/grub/menu.lst /etc/fstab
They all have to change, i know. But how to proper change /etc/sysconfig/kernel ? That is the point.
