https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=671524 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=671524#c0 Summary: Unable to install in Virtaulbox version 3.2.6 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Milestone 6 of 6 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kjetil@kilhavn.no QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; nb-NO; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 SUSE/3.6.13-3.1 Firefox/3.6.13 I tried installing milestone 6 in a virtaul machine using VirtualBox 3.2.0.6 - as this is what I have used until now. The DVD failed (aborted). I checked the most annoying bugs and tried the network install. It failed as well. I downloaded the live CD - it wouldn't boot either. The previous milestones I have installed (I think it has been 3 and 5) have not had this problem. Now I have updated VirtualBox to the latest version (4.0.2) and both the live CD and the installation DVD work as expected. I assume the network install would also work flawlessly. My host system is openSUSE.org 11.3 x86-64 updated to KDE SC 4.6 and with assorted software, not at all a clean install. However, all software is repository based. The update to KDE SC 4.6 is the only major change since the installation of milestone 5 as far as I can recall. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install VirtualBox version 3.2.6 2. Download any of the (x86-64) installation or live DVDs/CDs 3. Attempt to install Actual Results: The installation DVD boots, but I never get to the first installation screen. Expected Results: The system should have installed as it usually does. I am setting the severity to minor since an upgrade of VirtualBox solved it, but it may be worth investigating why it aborts if someone has some time to spare. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
