https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800981 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800981#c0 Summary: No KMS setting required on Dell XPS12 Duo, but was not required to install 12.2 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 12.3 Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: philip@pjtait.org QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/21.0.1180.89 Safari/537.1 Just received delivery of a Dell XPS12 Duo. openSUSE 12.2 installed flawlessly, everything worked except for the touchscreen. Tried installing 12.3 beta 1 to see if the touchscreen would work out of the box (like it does for Ubuntu 12.10). However, it was necessary to use the "No KMS" installation setting, otherwise the screen blanked after the first page of boot messages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Insert USB flash drive with 12.3 beta 1 2.Boot, and use F12 menu to select USB drive (requires legacy setting in BIOS setup). 3.Select Installation without changing settings. Actual Results: Screen displays a page of text messages, then goes blac, unlike 12.2 which is flawless. Expected Results: Should have displayed normal splash screen like 12.2 does, and proceed to installation configuration screens, like 12.2 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
