http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1007746 Bug ID: 1007746 Summary: Selecting Kernel 4.8.4 fails to boot during loading ramdisk, causes reboot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: i686 OS: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader Assignee: jsrain@suse.com Reporter: i22a@yahoo.co.uk QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- When selecting kernel 4.8.4 it gets to "loading initial ramdisk" (If I remember correctly) and then reboots. Maybe it does not have enough room? although this system has 1.2G RAM. The previous kernel 4.7.6 boots OK. initrd -> initrd-4.8.4-1-default vmlinuz -> vmlinuz-4.8.4-1-default openSUSE Tumbleweed 20161026 I don't think there will be any logs. The system is a Dell Inspiron 510m laptop with extra RAM. cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 13 model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.50GHz stepping : 8 microcode : 0x20 cpu MHz : 800.000 cache size : 2048 KB physical id : 0 siblings : 1 core id : 0 cpu cores : 1 apicid : 0 initial apicid : 0 fdiv_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss tm pbe bts eagerfpu est tm2 bugs : bogomips : 1593.57 clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 32 bits physical, 32 bits virtual power management: -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
