https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=381706 Summary: iwl3945 - no AP in KNetworkManager and problems using ifup Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: willem@neteyes.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- After a fresh install with Beta1 wireless connection is broken. This is a default install with network manager enabled and as extra only specifying my network WPA settings. KNetwork manager shows no access points and also the status led of my wireless network card is off. iwevent shows there is some small activity but no access point gets set. dmesg shows no significant errors and iwl3945 seems to get loaded ok. 'iwlist wlan0 scan' does return wireless networks (status led is still off) so the card is alive even though there is no status light. Setting the network setup to traditional ifup does connect to my wireless network but I only receive an ip address, but no additional settings like default route or dns are applied. dhcpcd wlan0 returns its already running. After manually configuring the default route and dns settings I do have a working internet connection. The issue is the setup does not work ' out of the box '. Is this a firmware/driver issue? What can we do to get this working?
