https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=741873 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=741873#c0 Summary: susedoc is undocumented Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Documentation AssignedTo: ke@suse.com ReportedBy: giecrilj@stegny.2a.pl QAContact: ke@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 In view of Bug 741232, I tried to use create an off-line version of the current documentation and I failed miserably. 1. I tried installing the documentation package from the Documentation project but the x64 version failed so I thought I would install the x86 version since the package is noarch anyway. This did not work: the manual did not show up in KDE help center, and besides, the package still contains documentation for version 11.4. 2. So I thought I would build the documentation myself from the tarball. I downloaded the tarball and installed susedoc. I have no idea how to apply susedoc to the tarball; neither susedoc nor the tarball contains any information in that regard. 3. So I thought I would report a bug at Berlios (as directed by the misplaced susedoc README), only to be told that I cannot because Berlios uses a self-signed certificate. I suggested a solution to the certificate problem to Berlios staff, and that is as much as I can do with Berlios. In other words, cubic SNAFU. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. { rpm -qd susedoc; } Actual Results: 1. Expected Results: 1. /usr/share/doc/packages/susedoc/COPYING /usr/share/doc/packages/susedoc/README Note: /usr/share/susedoc/README exists but it is misplaced, outdated (I was told susedoc does not live at Berlios any more) and unhelpful (it does not tell you what to do to make the documentation). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
