https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=404763 Summary: DBus failure causes compiz-fusion settings to reset Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: ps1184@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Within the ccsm, enabling certain plugins will cause all settings will reset to their default values. The configuration will be lost, and the checkboxes in ccsm will reset right then and there. I discovered this by launching fusion-icon from a console (fusion-icon -v &). I am running as a normal user. When I experience the settings reset, this gets printed to stdout: compiz (dbus) - Error: dbus_bus_get error: Failed to execute dbus-launch to autolaunch D-Bus session compiz (dbus) - Error: InitObject failed compiz (core) - Error: Couldn't activate plugin 'dbus' I can reproduce this by enabling the DBus plugin in ccsm. Other plugins seem to cause this sporadically, but eventually it will happen. I'm not sure if this helps, but dbus-monitor outputs nothing when I reproduce the error. I am running: openSUSE 11.0 with KDE3 dbus_1.2.1-15.1 compiz_0.7.4-31.1 compiz-fusion-plugins-main_0.7.4_28.1 compiz-fusion-plugins-extras_0.7.4_28.1 compizconfig-settings-manager_0.7.4_28.1 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
