Standup Meeting 2010-08-02
present: cwh, robert, coolo, aj, lubos, pavol, michal, vincent, will, egbert absent: freitag, tschmidt, michl ======= general ======= * FrosCON For froscon this month we will not take care of the booth but only of the devroom. cwh can't make it either that means as of today the list of people that will go is: * Henne Vogelsang * Klaas Freitag * Robert Lihm * Pavol Rusnak * Michal Hrusecky * Lubos Lunak * Egbert Eich * Milestone assignment openfate: klaas, vincent, cwh, egbert junior jobs: will, lubos, coolo connect: michal, lubos, wiki: henne, tom * Discussion about prios Somewhere the discussion about our priorities popped up again. We still need to add a "Distribution" milestone where people can sprint on during releases and stuff so that people understand that we also have to deal with the distribution. This is a general thing people need to understand: The boosters can't be completely outside the general opensuse development! Or else we don't know shit about shit to teach to new contributors. But its also true that some of us still need to adjust their personal priorities. ======= standup ======= * junior jobs We did an idea collection and want to try to mimic KDE's JJ We are planing to filling those ideas into retrospectiva We are blocked by nothing * connect We did turn off the old instance and redirected it into the wiki and worked on a VM with the new ELG instance. We also started a collection of topics for the froscon devroom. We plan to announce the devroom properly and to collect participants for the devroom. We are blocked by nothing. * openfate We have done nothing We have nothing planed We are blocked by L3, Vacation and Guadec * wiki We did teach people about the new concept. Investigating short term search and spam solutions and talked to the the German wiki team which asked for help with the transition of their instance. We plan to work with the wiki team on the search & spam issues and to use the German wiki transition to put some flesh on the multi-language concept by bringing Help:Translation up to speed. We are blocked by nothing. Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. ======= general ======= * FrosCON For froscon this month we will not take care of the booth but only of the devroom. cwh can't make it either that means as of today the list of people that will go is:
* Henne Vogelsang * Klaas Freitag * Robert Lihm * Pavol Rusnak * Michal Hrusecky * Lubos Lunak * Egbert Eich Ok. I still need feedback from the checz guys and Egbert about travelling costs. please come up with.
* Milestone assignment openfate: klaas, vincent, cwh, egbert junior jobs: will, lubos, coolo connect: michal, lubos, wiki: henne, tom
* Discussion about prios Somewhere the discussion about our priorities popped up again. We still need to add a "Distribution" milestone where people can sprint on during releases and stuff so that people understand that we also have to deal with the distribution. This is a general thing people need to understand: The boosters can't be completely outside the general opensuse development! Who is "the people" in this case? And of course we can be outside the general development. How does this question come up?
Or else we don't know shit about shit to teach to new contributors. Well, yes.
But its also true that some of us still need to adjust their personal priorities. Right, again I want to emphasize the point that the Sprints are the main priority.
For me this includes some important parts: 1. Planning together with the other sprint group members how work will be done, this is group-internal discussion that needs to be done 2. Documentation of the results of 1. in retrospectiva 3. Implement stuff 4. Talk about the results in blogs, weekly reports etc. I know all of us are not yet there, because tons of other stuff is coming down on us, especially stuff that we do for years and is, as a result, an easy win to spend the day with. AND, and I know that, lots of stuff that looks very important to do because nobody else will pick it up if we do not do it.. Well, we have to risk that, because we need to do stuff that helps far more people to work with us. I see its difficult and again, we're not yet there, but thats the way to go. regards, Klaas -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+help@opensuse.org

Who is "the people" in this case?
The general public.
And of course we can be outside the general development. How does this question come up?
Which question? The one about what we can deliver? Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. Everybody has a plan, until they get hit. - Mike Tyson -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+help@opensuse.org
