[GREEN] - KDE 4.3.5 online update, checked bugreports for easy stuff and fixes from upstream, tested, found blocking issues, fixed those, found KUpdateApplet handles very poorly an update with so many packages (bnc#580529), debugged and worked around the PackageKit problem with Thomas Goettlicher during Tokamak4, the updates were out before I got back from Tokamak to test the whole update again, turns out the fix doesn't get activated soon enough because of another KUpdateApplet/PackageKit problem, grmbl - attended Tokamak4: - talked to Plasma people about their relations with the window manager, discussed various problems, they are actually nice people and willing to do things the right way :) - discussion about Shaman, which is something that can become KDE's API and tools for package management (like PackageKit, but with nice stable API and without the nightmares); this would allow having an upstream solution for KUpdateApplet and on-demand installation of various packages like codecs, unfortunately too late for 11.3 - discussions about the activities concepts for KDE4 - since the new laptop I have has a fingerprint reader, found time to fix the bad problems with KDE's support for it (bnc#533189) - examining having 11.3 do simple on-demand of extra packages like codecs; it actually appears that using just zypper+yast2 and a reasonably small amount of code could be a nice and lawyer-friendly solution for 11.3 until hopefully Shaman takes care of this - L3 bnc #568154 - kiosktool and kiosk support in general was in a rather bad shape in KDE 4.1 and at least kiosktool still is even now - this should get fixed for enterprise stuff, but most probably requires some amount of work :-/ - various gcc4.5 related fixes, SP1 fixes - I guess it's time to start advertising kde-obs-generator to the more brave public - KDE IRC meeting -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+help@opensuse.org
