Is there any way to tell autoyast to do this automatically? From the explanation below, it seems that I have to manually run fdisk and create the extended partition before I attempt the autoinstall. What I'd like to do is specify the extended partition in the configuration file. Any ideas? I think 4 is the maximum number of primary partitions you can have. -michael

In the updated packages there is no need to specify if an extended partition should be created. Thisi done automatically. Currently all partitions are created as logical partitions unless you specify you want a partition to be primary. This is done in the control file directly and not in the configuration system. To set the type of the partition, insert the following into the partition resource: <partition_type>primary</partition_type> Anas
