[opensuse-autoinstall] Use autoyast for upgrade ?
Hi, is it possible to use autoyast to UPGRDAE a system (42.2 -> 42.3, or SLES 11SP4 -> SLES12SP1 ? Any expires ? How would be an upgrade be triggered ? -- Bye, Peer ________________________________________________________ Max-Planck-Institut für Biogeochemie Dr. Peer-Joachim Koch Hans-Knöll Str.10 Telefon: ++49 3641 57-6705 D-07745 Jena Telefax: ++49 3641 57-7705

Hi, it is possible. Just pass autoupgrade=1 beside autoyast parameter. See https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Linuxrc Josef -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+owner@opensuse.org
Thanks, is there a way to freeze the kernel at the upgrade prozess ? If updates are provided allways the latest patch level will be installed. We need a dedicated kernel. Can I pass this information, too ? Bye, Peer On 22.10.18 11:52, Josef Reidinger wrote:

Manage your own repos and don't put newer kernels than the one you want into said repo. We do this, more or less. We manage our own repos because we need consistency between hosts, and we need to be able to test that updates don't break things (we just had a tools break on a kernel update in the last weeks). Then we periodically (usually as needed for bugfixes or security patches) sync updates from our SMT repos into the repos our hosts use, then have hosts patch up on reboot. The idea being that a newly jumped host and a rebooted host will have the same installed rpms/version. -- Mike Marion-Unix SysAdmin/Sr. Staff IT Engineer-http://www.qualcomm.com-- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+owner@opensuse.org

Hi, you can lock your existing kernel in the installed system ( zypper addlock ...). So it should not be updated while an upgrade. BUT another kernel will be installed in parallel and bootloader will take this new one. You can switch it off by unset multiversion = provides:multiversion(kernel) in the zypp.conf. But be honest I would not suggest to keep the old kernel (espl. while an upgrade SLES 11SP4 -> SLES12SP1 ) but I am sure that you will have a reason for it. ;-) Greetings Stefan Am 22.10.2018 um 12:14 schrieb Dr. Peer-Joachim Koch:

Hi, no, we don't want to keep the SLES11 kernel, but we have to use the first kernel of SLES 12SP1. Bye, Peer On 23.10.18 10:55, Stefan Schubert wrote:
