Re: [suse-autoinstall] SLES9/SP3 Bootloader install failure during autoinstall with LVM
Warren, You need to tell the system where your / is located..... i.e.
As the subject states, my autoyast installation fails on the bootloader installation once I introduced LVM to my .xml file. Below you will find my complete partitioning and bootloader portions of the file. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the help. This worked great. ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
On SLES9sp3 it appears that XIncludes dont work if instmode=cd. the y2log shows that profile loading goes through a multi-pass attempt where it fails one or more times, but some logic finds instmode=cd and for EACH profile autoyast re-mounts the cd/dvd, finds the profile, then unmounts the cd/dvd. So, if an XInclude exists in the profile file, the XML parser appears to not have the same logic of attempting to remount the cd/dvd. And by the time the parser is reading the XML, autoyast has already unmounted the cd/dvd and the file can't be referenced. I am pretty sure i tried using xincludes of both forms: file:///cf/xi-blah.xml and /cf/xi-blah.xml Is there something i'm missing or a known functional workaround? thanks, --stephen -- Stephen Dowdy - Systems Administrator - NCAR/RAL 303.497.2869 - sdowdy@ucar.edu - http://www.ral.ucar.edu/~sdowdy/
