[opensuse-autoinstall] IBM x3550 SLES 9 Autoyast with PXE Boot
Hello All, I've got a rack full of IBM x3550's which need SLES 9 installed on them. I've configured a PXE and Autoyast server, which seem to be working, however, the 3550's seem to have a problem with the sles9 sp3 driver module. The nic will not load properly, and the autoinstall process fails out almost immediately after the syslinux kernel is loaded. I have the kernel set to load the bnx2 module, which is what it uses once it is installed locally, but I'm still not having any luck. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

Jon I've had similar problems on HP ProLiants with the tg3/Broadcom driver. While it might not be related to your problem, try appending 'netwait=5' to your kernel boot parameters. What I saw was DHCP installs worked fine (would retry as the driver readied) but static IP would fail as it only applied the IP once and the nic wasn't quite ready yet, even if I nailed speed/duplex with module parms.
HTH, my shot in the dark! :) Lee -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
