RE: [suse-autoinstall] xmllint
Absolutely not. The DTDs have not been correct since I started using SLES about 3+ years ago. I suspect they aren't tested. I don't think yast always generates a valid autoyast xml file either. I've always had to edit mine until autoyast will read it back in again without error. -----Original Message----- From: Lars Stavholm [mailto:stava@telcotec.se] Sent: Tuesday, June 13, 2006 7:27 AM To: suse-autoinstall@suse.com Subject: [suse-autoinstall] xmllint For sake of completeness I try to validate my autoinst.xml on SuSE Linux 10.1 using "xmllint --noout --validate autoinst.xml". Loads of errors are displayed. But the basis of my autoinst.xml is produced by autoyast by means of cloning (Create Reference Profil). Q: Is this supposed to work? I.e. are the DTD's up-to-date? OK, that's a confirmation. I have the same experience as well through the 3+ years I've been using it. I guess the plain "xmllint --noout" is still useful for detecting simple typos like missing closing tags and such. Just seems like such a waste, not using the full power of xml. Thanks /L
