[opensuse-autoinstall] OT: Centralized patch management for OpenSuse 11.x
Hello, someone may start to laugh now for my (OT) question, but I can't find a satisfying solution :-/ How do you manage patches, updates, etc. for your running opensuse clients (not enterprise linux, just the "regular" opensuse distribution)? Is there a way like known from M$-World (WSUS)? As I know "Zend Management Server" is not open source (and not supported any more?!). Or can the complete management only be handled with self written scripts? Thanks! Erm, I'm not sure if I understand correctly what you're asking about, but guessing from keyword "centralized" in $subject, I'd say that you're looking for something like this: http://www.novell.com/linux/smt/ http://www.novell.com/linux/smt/faq.html Unfortunately, even though SMT is GPLed, it is targeted at enterprise product(s), and afaik, we don't have any openSUSE equivalent of it. hB. -- \\\\\ Katarina Machalkova \\\\\\\__o YaST developer __\\\\\\\'/_ & hedgehog painter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

Hello everybody, a happy new year! Just a short feedback: Today I found this tool here - "apt-dater" - on the german "Linux Magazin". Looks like what I was searching for: http://www.linux-magazin.de/content/view/full/57440 The say that it can handle OpenSUSE via "rug". So I'll try that! :-) Regards, Ivan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

There is zypper support now. There is also a project from the author on the buildservice. https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Aliske -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
