[opensuse-autoinstall] opensuse 11 Failed to add add-on product
Hello, I'm having trouble creating my autoyast configuration file. So far when i don't add any repositories and select some software i get an autoyast that works correctly. But when i add some repositories i get the error message: Failed to add add-on product For each of the repositories i have (it seems, i haven't counted exactly).. I'm also not sure about how the software selection works. It seems to have all the software available from the repositories that are set on the machine, not the ones setup in the autoyast tool. I select some packages that aren't on the DVD and when the installation starts i get messages saying a bunch of stuff isn't found. That's what i thought adding repos was for but that doesn't seem to work. If i manage to create an xml file with the list of packages i want, is there a tool that would allow me to download everything so i can setup a local repository and avoid downloading that from the Internet each time. For each of the repositories i have (it seems, i haven't counted exactly)..
are the repositories digitally signed? Do you have a signature-handling in you XML file? http://www.suse.de/~ug/autoyast_doc/configuration.html#CreateProfile.General

I don't understand that. Are you talking about the autoyast config UI?

I used yast2-cd-creator in the past but I think it's called yast2-add-on-creator or yast2-product-creator so now. It can import autoyast XML files. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

I believe so, i get asked to import signature when i add them to the repositories. Actually i'm not using anything fancy, just trying to add oss, non-oss and packman. They are already available in the interface and so far everything i need is in there.

No i don't. I'll check that out.

Yes, that wasn't very clear. In the autoyast config UI i can add any software that i can add on the server itself. It's a little confusing to me, i was expecting not to be able to add any software without adding repositories but since i set some on the server when i create my selection for the autoyast configuration file i have access to everything implicitly. I think that if i add a repos on the server, the autoyast config ui will use it (even if i don't have a repos section). However if i don't add the repos it will fail at install time. Also i think that if i add a repos in the autoyast config ui it gets added to the server; is that true or just my imagination?

I'll chech that out as well. Thanks for your help. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

yes, that's true. I admit, that is not so nice. I should rethink the design of the software module some day. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
